Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon (5g) superfine sugar
  • 2 to 3 dashes bitters (Angostura bitters or Fee Brothers' Whiskey Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned Bitters)
  • 2 ounces bourbon or rye whiskey
  • Orange slice and/or cocktail cherry for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass, combine whiskey, bitters, and sugar.
  2. Add several large ice cubes and stir rapidly with a bar spoon to chill.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
  4. Garnish with a slice of orange and/or a cherry, if desired.
