Ingredients
- 2 cups diced watermelon
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 3/4 cup white tequila
- 3 slices jalapenos (divided) (optional)
- 2 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp water
- Salt and sugar for rim
- Mint, lime, and jalapeno for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the watermelon, lime juice, triple sec, and tequila. Blend for about two minutes until smooth.
- Strain the mixture twice through a fine mesh strainer and place in a large pitcher. Add half of the sliced jalapenos, if using, and refrigerate.
- In a saucepan, heat the sugar, water, and remaining jalapeno slices for 2-3 minutes. Allow the simple syrup to cool, then strain out the jalapenos.
- Add the simple syrup to the watermelon mixture, then chill.
- After 1-2 hours, remove the jalapenos if the desired heat level is reached. Otherwise, leave them in if serving later.
- Wet the rims of glasses, then dip in salt and sugar.
- Add ice to the glasses, pour in the watermelon margarita, and garnish with lime, mint, and sliced jalapeno.
