Ingredients
- 3 cups seedless watermelon flesh
- 0.50 oz lime juice
- 1.50 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1.50 oz silver tequila
- 0.12 cup fresh orange juice
- Ice
- Lime wedge for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the watermelon in half and scoop out 3 cups of the pink flesh, discarding the rind.
- Blend the watermelon and lime juice until smooth and frothy.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing with a spoon to release the juices. Discard solids.
- If desired, prepare optional salted rims by rimming the glass with lime and dipping it in salt.
- Combine 1 cup of watermelon juice, tequila, and orange juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously.
- Fill a glass with ice and strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
