Warm Spice Ale Punch

Ingredients
- 1 apple, peeled, cored, and quartered
- 5 cardamom pods
- 2-inch cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 8 oz. pale ale
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 oz. dark rum
Instructions
- Place the apples, cardamom, cinnamon, and star anise in a piece of cheesecloth and tie it up.
- In a large pot, add the wrapped spices, pale ale, and honey with the apples.
- Simmer the mixture on medium-low heat for about 20 minutes, then remove from heat.
- Pour 1 ounce of dark rum into a mug and top it with the ale mixture before serving.
