Ingredients

  • 2 oz Cynar
  • 1/2 oz chocolate syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • A few dashes of whiskey barrel-aged bitters

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water over medium-low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the cocoa powder until fully combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool, then refrigerate until ready to use.
  4. Add the egg to a shaker and break apart the yolk and whites with a barspoon or fork.
  5. Pour in the chocolate syrup and Cynar.
  6. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  7. Double strain the mixture into a chilled coupe glass.
  8. Top the cocktail with whiskey barrel-aged bitters.
