Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 1 lime (cut into wheels)
  • 1 1/2 ounces coconut tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • 1 1/2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce agave nectar
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed ice

Instructions

  1. Place the coconut flakes in a blender and pulse to grind them into a fine powder. Transfer a tablespoon of the coconut powder to a small flat plate.
  2. Add a tablespoon of flaked salt to the plate and mix it into the coconut powder.
  3. Rub the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wheel, then dip the wet rim into the coconut-salt mixture and set aside.
  4. Rinse out the blender pitcher and add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, agave nectar, and ice to it.
  5. Process the mixture on the Icy drinks/Smoothies setting until smooth.
  6. Pour the margarita into the prepared glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
  7. Serve immediately.
