Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 lime (cut into wheels)
  • 1 1/2 ounces coconut tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau
  • 1 1/2 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce agave nectar
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed ice

Instructions

  1. In a blender, grind the flaked coconut into a fine powder.
  2. Transfer a tablespoon of the coconut powder to a small flat plate and mix it with a teaspoon of flaked salt.
  3. Rub the rim of a margarita glass with a lime wheel and dip the wet rim into the coconut-salt mixture.
  4. Rinse out the blender pitcher and add the coconut tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, agave nectar, and ice.
  5. Process the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour the margarita into the prepared glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
