The Blooming Rose Garden
An elegant and refreshing cocktail with gin, lemon, and rose flavors, topped with sparkling white wine and garnished with a delicate rose.
Ingredients
- 6 mint leaves
- Petals of 3 unsprayed roses, plus 6 small unsprayed roses to garnish
- 3 oz gin
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Ice cubes
- 6 oz sparkling white wine, chilled
- Rose syrup:
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp rosewater
Instructions
- Chill a tall glass in the fridge.
- Make the rose syrup by dissolving sugar in water over medium-high heat. Stir in rosewater and chill until cooled.
- Gently bruise the mint leaves and rose petals and place them in the chilled glass.
- In two batches, combine gin, lemon juice, rose syrup, and plenty of ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake well.
- Pour the mixture into the glass and top up with sparkling wine.
- Garnish with a small unsprayed rose, then serve immediately with a straw.
