Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 0.50 oz simple syrup
  • 0.50 tsp Szechuan peppercorns
  • 0.25 tsp Chinese five-spice
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, crush the Szechuan peppercorns.
  2. Add the whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, Chinese five-spice, and egg white to the shaker.
  3. Shake the mixture without ice for about 10 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
  4. Add ice to the shaker and vigorously shake for 15-20 seconds.
  5. Strain the cocktail into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice.
