Spicy Citrus Elixir
A refreshing gin cocktail with a blend of spice and citrus, perfect to enjoy with Indian cuisine.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz. of honey
- 1 1/2 oz. of water
- 1 red chilli, split in half lengthways
- 1 1/3 oz. of gin
- 1/2 oz. of ginger liqueur
- 1/2 oz. of elderflower liqueur
- 1/2 oz. of lime juice, freshly squeezed
- Dried lemon peel spiral to garnish
Instructions
- Begin by making the chilli-infused honey syrup. Combine the water and honey in a container, then add the split red chilli. Allow the mixture to infuse in the refrigerator for 2 days.
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
- Pour 1/2 oz. of the chilli-infused honey syrup and the remaining cocktail ingredients over the ice and seal the shaker.
- Vigorously shake for 15 seconds.
- Use a Hawthorne strainer to hold back the ice and pour the shaken mixture into a chilled, short glass with fresh ice.
- Complete the cocktail with a dried lemon peel spiral and serve with short straws.
