Ingredients
- 1 oz gin
- 1.50 oz sparkling wine
- 1 cup filtered water
- 1 black tea bag
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar (or vegan brown sugar or agave)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
- 1/4 cup ice
Instructions
- Boil 1 cup of water in a medium pot, then reduce heat and steep the tea bag for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tea bag, then add orange zest, coconut sugar, cinnamon stick, allspice, and vanilla. Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
- Remove from heat and allow the spiced tea mixture to cool to room temperature. Strain using a fine mesh sieve.
- Add ice to a cocktail shaker, then pour in the spiced tea, gin, orange juice, and lemon juice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
- Add ice to a glass, then pour the shaken mixture, filling the glass about 3/4 full. Top with sparkling wine and stir gently.
- Garnish with dried blood oranges and fresh mint or basil. Serve and enjoy immediately.
