Spiced Applejack Cider
A cozy, spiced hot cider cocktail with a touch of applejack brandy.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1/4 teaspoon whole allspice berries
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 3/4 cup apple cider
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 (2-inch) strips of orange rind
- 2 (2-inch) strips of lemon rind
- 1 1/2 tablespoons applejack brandy
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in the brown sugar, peppercorns, allspice berries, and cloves. Cook for about a minute.
- Add the apple cider, honey, vanilla extract, orange rind, and lemon rind, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the applejack brandy.
- Strain the mixture to remove the solids.
