Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from approximately 1 lemon)
- 4-6 fresh mint leaves
- 1-2 tablespoons Bourbon (depending on your tastes)
- 3/4 cup ginger ale

- Add lemon juice, mint leaves, and Bourbon to the sugar mixture. Allow it to cool.
- Pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a glass. This will remove solid particles and mint leaves.
- Add ginger ale to the glass and stir to combine.
- Prepare the serving glass by dipping the rim into water, lemon juice, or light corn syrup, then into coarse white sugar to create a sugar rim.
- Add ice cubes to the glass, pour the cocktail, and garnish with a lemon slice.
