Ingredients
- 2 oz dark chocolate, 70%, chopped
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 oz mezcal
- 1 oz Madeira wine
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Chocolate shavings, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the hot fudge sauce by mixing dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and salt in a heat-proof bowl.
- In a saucepan, heat heavy cream, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until boiling, then pour over the chocolate mixture and whisk until smooth.
- In another saucepan, heat milk and a portion of the hot fudge sauce, then add mezcal and Madeira and stir.
- Pour the hot chocolate into a glass mug.
- Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Serve immediately.
