Ingredients
- 1 sugar cube
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 dash of water
- Ice
- 3 oz. smoked bourbon
- Orange peel twist
- Cocktail cherries
Instructions
- Preheat a pellet grill to 180°F or prepare a pellet smoker tube for cold smoking according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Place 1 cup of bourbon in a tempered glass measuring cup and set it in a cast-iron skillet on the grill rack.
- Surround the cup with ice and smoke the bourbon for 45-60 minutes, ensuring to drain water and replenish ice every 15 minutes to maintain a cool temperature and minimize evaporation.
- In an old-fashioned glass, muddle a sugar cube with bitters and water until the sugar is crushed and nearly dissolved.
- Add ice and the smoked bourbon to the glass.
- Garnish the cocktail with an orange peel twist and cocktail cherries.
