Sesame Dreams: A Tahini-infused Mai Tai
A tantalizing blend of white rum, Jamaican rum, genever, and tahini orgeat, with a hint of banana liqueur and fresh lime juice, making for a rich and exotic Mai Tai.
Ingredients
- 1 oz. white rum
- 1/4 oz. Jamaican rum
- 1/2 oz. genever
- 1/2 oz. banana liqueur
- 1 oz. tahini orgeat
- 3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
- Tahini Orgeat:
- 0.50 oz. cognac
- 0.50 oz. amaretto
- 4 drops rose water
- 3 oz. tahini
Instructions
- Steep the almonds in boiling hot water for 20 minutes, then blend thoroughly and strain.
- If resulting almond milk is less than 275ml, top with hot water until the volume is 275ml.
- Add white sugar, turbinado sugar, salt, cognac, amaretto, and rose water. Blend with tahini while the mixture is still hot.
- Store the Tahini Orgeat in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- In a shaker with ice, combine the white rum, Jamaican rum, genever, banana liqueur, tahini orgeat, and fresh lime juice.
- Shake well and pour into a glass, then top with pebble ice.
- Garnish as desired.
