Seductive Whisky Delight
A classic whisky cocktail with just the right balance of sweetness and bitterness.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soft light brown sugar
- a few dashes of Angostura bitters
- 3 tablespoons bourbon or rye whiskey
- to garnish: orange twist
Instructions
- In a pan, combine the sugar and 3 1/2 tablespoons of water. Heat gently, stirring, until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool. This will make more than you need but will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
- In an old fashioned glass, add 3 teaspoons of the prepared sugar syrup and the bitters. Stir until combined.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes, pour over the bourbon, and stir well.
- Garnish with a twist of orange peel and serve.
