Ingredients

  • 2 oz Japanese whisky
  • Soda water, to top (6-8 oz, or about 3-4 times the amount of whisky)

Instructions

  1. Place a large ice cube in a highball glass.
  2. Stir the ice in the glass until frost forms, then pour off any excess water if the ice melts.
  3. Add another ice cube to the glass and pour the whisky over it.
  4. Stir the whisky in the glass 13 1/2 times clockwise using a bar spoon.
  5. Add a third ice cube to fill the glass completely.
  6. Carefully pour soda water into the glass without disturbing the ice.
  7. Stir the drink three times with a bar spoon, then gently lift the ice to incorporate the two drinks without creating excessive bubbles.
