Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Handful of fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 black tea bag
- 1/2 cup carbonated water or sparkling rose wine
- Ice cubes
- Optional: Fresh raspberries and basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the raspberries, sugar, basil, and lime juice. Mash the berries and cook over medium heat for about 7 minutes until the berries release their juices.
- Remove from the heat and add the tea bag. Cover and let it steep for 20 minutes. Then strain the mixture, discarding the tea bag and raspberry seeds, and transfer the tea to a pitcher. Refrigerate until serving.
- Just before serving, slowly add the carbonated water or wine to the pitcher and stir gently.
- Serve the Raspberry Basil Fizz over ice and garnish with fresh raspberries and basil leaves, if desired.
