Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1 lime peel
- 6 (14 oz) cans condensed milk
- 2 (12 oz) tins evaporated milk
- 3-4 dashes Angostura bitters
- 3 cups rum
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated cinnamon
Instructions
- Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl, one at a time, and remove the white rubbery membrane from each egg.
- Add the peeled lime to the eggs, then whisk the eggs until frothy using an electric mixer on low or a handheld whisk.
- Slowly pour in the condensed milk while whisking vigorously, then add the evaporated milk and the entire bottle of rum.
- Add the freshly grated nutmeg and mix thoroughly, then discard the lime peel.
- Strain the mixture through a fine colander, then pour it into sterile glass bottles for storage.
