Ingredients

  • 3 oz Mezcal tequila
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 4 tbsp Pomegranate simple syrup
  • 1/4 cup sugar for rimming glass
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp pomegranate seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 3 tbsp pomegranate seeds. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 minutes until slightly thickened. Allow to cool, then strain the syrup into an airtight container.
  2. In a shaker, combine 3 oz mezcal tequila, the juice of 1 lime, the juice of half a lemon, and 4 tbsp of the pomegranate simple syrup. Shake well.
  3. Pour about 1/4 cup sugar onto a plate. Wet the rim of a glass and dip it into the sugar to coat the rim.
  4. Fill the glass with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the ice.
  5. Garnish with sliced lime and pomegranate seeds, and enjoy!
