Ingredients

  • 1 Piloncillo Cone (8 oz., also sold as panela)
  • 4 cups very hot water
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the piloncillo sugar cone into a large heat-resistant glass pitcher.
  2. Carefully pour 4 cups of very hot water into the pitcher.
  3. Stir occasionally and let the piloncillo completely dissolve into the water, which can take 30-40 minutes.
  4. Once the sugar has dissolved, pour in the cold water and lime juice, and stir.
  5. Serve the drink over ice cubes.
  6. Store the drink in the fridge until serving.
