Negroni Zest Frost
A refreshing Negroni granita with a hint of orange zest, perfect for any summer gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp chopped orange zest
- Pinch of salt
- 3/8 cup blood orange soda or sparkling citrus soda
- 1/8 cup gin
- 1/16 cup sweet vermouth
- 1/16 cup Campari
- Blood orange slice for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, water, orange zest, and salt to make a simple syrup. Stir until the sugar dissolves, around 5 minutes.
- In a separate container, combine the soda, gin, vermouth, Campari, and the simple syrup to create the mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a 3-quart baking dish, cover it, and place it in the freezer until it becomes solid, for approximately 8 hours or overnight.
- Use a fork to scrape the granita to fluff it up, then scoop it into serving dishes and garnish with a slice of blood orange.
