A refreshing twist on the classic julep, the Minty Raspberry Crush combines fresh raspberries, mint, and bourbon for a vibrant and seasonal cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon caster sugar
- 8 fresh mint leaves plus extra for serving
- 1 small handful of raspberries
- Ice cubes
- 1.70 oz bourbon
Instructions
- In a small pan, make a simple sugar syrup by heating one part sugar with two parts water over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Place 1 teaspoon of the sugar syrup in a tumbler.
- Add the fresh mint leaves and raspberries to the tumbler, and muddle them together.
- Allow the mixture to macerate for 10 minutes.
- Remove the mint leaves and strain the drink into a clean glass.
- Crush some ice and add a small handful to the glass.
- Pour the bourbon over the ice and stir well.
- Finish by adding more crushed ice and garnishing with fresh mint leaves.
