Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen mango chunks
- Juice of 2 large limes
- 1/4 cup cane sugar (or to taste)
- A large pinch of salt
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2-3 cups water
- 2 oz tequila or mezcal (optional)
Instructions
- If using fresh mango, peel and cube the mango.
- In two shallow bowls, add chile-lime salt and chamoy separately.
- In a blender, combine the mango chunks, lime juice, ice cubes, sugar, 2 cups of water, and tequila (if using). Blend until it reaches a thick slushie consistency.
- Dip the rims of glasses into chamoy, then into the chile-lime salt to coat generously.
- Drizzle chamoy into the bottom of each glass and around the sides.
- Fill the glasses one-third of the way with the frozen mango mixture, then add chamoy and chile-lime salt before adding more mango mixture. Repeat layering until the glasses are full.
- Garnish with fresh mango chunks and tamarind candy straws if desired.
