Ingredients

  • 1 can (12 oz.) Canada Dry Mandarin Orange Seltzer water
  • 3 cups orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bottle champagne or sparkling wine

Instructions

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water, then heat until boiling (about 1 1/2 minutes). Stir and let it cool.
  2. Squeeze half a lemon to obtain about a tablespoon of lemon juice.
  3. In an 8 x 8 pan, combine lemon juice, 3 cups of orange juice, the simple syrup, and 1 can of Canada Dry Mandarin Orange Seltzer Water. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Place the mixture in the freezer.
  5. Every 30 minutes during the first hour, stir or break up the granita with a fork.
  6. At the 2-hour mark, break up the granita with a fork again.
  7. After 3 hours, the granita is ready to serve.
  8. Add about 1/2 cup of granita to a glass, then pour champagne or sparkling wine over it and serve.
