Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons hibiscus powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice (about 1/2 to 1 lemon)
  • 1 1/2 cups cold water
  • ice

Instructions

  1. Create the hibiscus simple syrup. Combine 2 tablespoons water, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 ½ teaspoons hibiscus powder in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes. Let it cool.
  2. Juice the lemon and remove any seeds.
  3. Combine the fresh squeezed lemon juice and 1 ½ cups cold water in a glass or pitcher.
  4. Stir in the hibiscus simple syrup until well combined.
