Golden Spice Fizz
This invigorating cocktail, known as the Golden Spice Fizz, combines the rich flavors of blended scotch with the health benefits of turmeric. The drink is a tantalizing blend of Johnnie Walker Black Label and The Famous Grouse The Black Grouse scotch, accented with freshly squeezed lemon juice, turmeric simple syrup, and a touch of heavy cream. The addition of an egg white provides a silky texture, and a refreshing finish is achieved with a splash of soda water. A dusting of sumac powder adds a final touch to this unique and aromatic concoction.
Golden Spice Fizz
The Golden Spice Fizz is a delightful fusion of scotch, turmeric, and citrus, finished with a fizzy soda twist.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Johnnie Walker Black Label blended scotch
- 1/2 oz The Famous Grouse The Black Grouse blended scotch
- 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4 oz turmeric simple syrup
- 1 egg white
- 1/4 oz heavy cream
- 3 oz soda water (to top)
- Garnish: sumac powder
Instructions
- In a shaker, combine all ingredients except the soda water and dry-shake vigorously (without ice).
- Add ice to the shaker and shake again until well-chilled.
- Strain the mixture into a highball glass over fresh ice.
- Top the drink with soda water.
- Garnish with a dusting of sumac powder.
- To make the turmeric simple syrup, blend 1 1/4 cups water and 4 ounces fresh turmeric root in a blender. Transfer the mixture to a saucepan, bring to a simmer over medium heat, then add 1/2 cup sugar. Cook for 5 minutes, strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, and refrigerate in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
