Gingered Cranberry Hot Punch
A festive and warming punch featuring zesty ginger, tangy cranberry, and aromatic cloves, with a hint of refreshing lemon.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
- 0.50 small lemon
- 5 cloves
- 1 tablespoon dried cranberries
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cranberry juice
- Liquid sweetener, as desired
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger root.
- Rinse the lemon in hot water, wipe dry, and remove the peel with a vegetable peeler. Juice the lemon.
- In a small pot, combine 2/3 cup of water, 2/3 of the lemon peel, ginger, cloves, and cranberries. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 8 minutes.
- Pour the mixture through a sieve into a second pot. Add the lemon and cranberry juices and heat until warmed through.
- Pour the punch into a mug or cup, add sweetener to taste, and garnish with the remaining lemon peel.
