Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon allspice berries
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
  • 1 oz heavy cream
  • 1/2 - 1 oz gingerbread syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small pot or pan, combine brown sugar, water, chopped ginger, allspice berries, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for at least 20 minutes.
  4. Strain the syrup and store it in an airtight container.
  5. In a shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, heavy cream, and gingerbread syrup.
  6. Add ice to the shaker and shake for 30 seconds until the drink is thoroughly mixed and frothy.
