Ingredients
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- 4-inch piece ginger, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon allspice berries
- 1 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz coffee liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
- 1 oz heavy cream
- 1/2 - 1 oz gingerbread syrup
Instructions
- In a small pot or pan, combine brown sugar, water, chopped ginger, allspice berries, cloves, cinnamon stick, and black peppercorns.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool for at least another 20 minutes.
- Strain the syrup and store it in an airtight container. It will be enough for 6-8 drinks and can be refrigerated for up to two weeks.
- In a shaker, combine vodka, coffee liqueur, heavy cream, and gingerbread syrup to taste.
- Add ice, shake for 30 seconds until cold and frothy.
- Strain into a glass, garnish as desired, and enjoy!
