Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 inch thinly sliced fresh ginger
  • 10 oz fresh brewed tea
  • 1/3 cup moscato
  • 1 slice candied ginger
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring sugar and 1/2 cup of water to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add fresh ginger; let it steep for about 7 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup and discard the ginger. Allow the syrup to cool completely for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a pitcher, combine the ginger syrup and tea.
  5. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled, at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.
  6. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
  7. Add the ginger tea to the glass, leaving some space at the top.
  8. Top it off with moscato, adding about 1/3 cup.
  9. Serve with a slice of candied ginger on the rim, if desired.
