Ingredients

  • 3 oz vine-ripe tomatoes, cut into wedges
  • 0.75 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.50 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 0.25 to 0.50 teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste), such as Tabasco
  • 0.25 teaspoon celery seeds
  • Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 0.38 cup canned tomato juice
  • 0.25 cup chilled vodka
  • Garnish: pickled okra and lemon wedge

Instructions

  1. Freeze tomato wedges for at least 4 hours.
  2. In a blender, combine the frozen tomatoes, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, hot sauce, celery seeds, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Blend until smooth.
  3. Stir in the tomato juice and vodka.
  4. Divide the mixture into a chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with pickled okra and a lemon wedge.
