  • 1.50 ounces 100-proof rye whiskey
  • 0.75 ounce vermouth
  • 0.25 ounce maple syrup
  • 8 drops peach bitters
  • 4 drops Peychaud's bitters

  • 1 lemon peel

Instructions

  1. Clean the inside of a latex balloon and fill it with enough filtered water to fit in a cocktail glass, then tie it closed.
  2. Place the balloon in the freezer, suspended so that nothing touches it, to maintain its shape and freeze until solid.
  3. Remove the frozen water balloon from the ice ball and discard it, keeping the ice ball frozen until ready to use.
  4. Fill a large glass with ice cubes and add the rye, vermouth, maple syrup, and both bitters, then stir to combine.
  5. Strain the mixture into a rocks glass and add the frozen ice ball.
  6. Garnish with orange and lemon peels and serve.
