Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk (about 0.6 oz)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.40 oz rum
  • 1/8 tsp fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1 egg white (about 0.6 oz)
  • 1 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg yolk until it becomes light in color and starts to thicken. Gradually add 2 tbsp sugar and continue beating until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add milk, cream, rum, and nutmeg to the yolk mixture and stir to combine.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add 1 tsp sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture.
