- 1 tbsp organic cane sugar
- 1 green cardamom pod (slightly crushed)
- 1 whole clove
- 1 star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 5 oz fruity red wine (such as Beaujolais)
- Orange slice for garnish
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine apple cider, orange juice, organic cane sugar, cardamom pod, clove, star anise, and cinnamon stick over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low, then add the red wine and simmer for 20 minutes, making sure it doesn't boil.
- Strain the mulled wine through a fine-meshed strainer.
