Ingredients

  • 1/2 Honeycrisp apple, sliced
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 6 oz red wine (e.g., Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, or Malbec)
  • 1 oz brandy (or rum for a gluten-free option)
  • 1 oz 7Up or Sprite (or soda water for a less sweet option)
  • 1 oz soda water

Instructions

  1. Slice the apple and add it to a glass with the cinnamon stick.
  2. If using cloves, place them in a tea infuser or tie them in a piece of cheesecloth.
  3. Pour the brandy and red wine into the glass with the apples and cinnamon.
  4. Stir gently and cover the glass. Refrigerate overnight.
  5. Before serving, add the 7Up and soda water to the glass and give it a gentle stir.
