Cranberry Ginger Mead Fizz
A delightful low-alcohol cocktail featuring cranberry, ginger, and sparkling mead.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1.50 ounces fresh ginger root, peeled and minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cranberries
- 4 ounces unsweetened cranberry juice
- Ice
- 2 ounces mead
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, bring the honey to a boil until it turns dark amber.
- Carefully add the orange juice and stir in the minced ginger, allowing it to steep for a few minutes.
- Blend the syrup and strain it to remove solids.
- Char the cranberries in a hot skillet, then transfer to a pitcher and add the honey-ginger syrup and cranberry juice.
- Cool the drink base completely and store in the refrigerator if not using right away.
- To prepare the cocktail, fill a highball glass with ice, add 4 ounces of the drink base along with several cranberries, and top with 2 ounces of mead. Stir gently and serve.
