Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 cup fresh cranberries
- 1 lemon wedge
- 1/8 orange slice
- 3 tablespoons dry gin
- 1/4 cup chilled Ginger Ale
- Candied Cranberries
- 1 mint sprig
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- Add cranberries to the cooled syrup and simmer for 2-3 minutes until they start to burst. Let the cranberries cool in the syrup.
- Reserve 3 candied cranberries for garnish.
- In a large pitcher, combine drained cranberries, cranberry syrup, lemon wedges, and orange slices. Muddle the fruit vigorously.
- Stir in gin and let the mixture steep for at least 5 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a medium pitcher.
- Fill a glass with crushed ice and add ginger ale.
- In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour half of the cranberry mixture and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain the liquid into the glass. Repeat for another serving.
- Garnish with candied cranberries and a mint sprig.
