Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons cranberry simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Champagne or prosecco, chilled
  • Orange slice and a couple cranberries for garnish
  • For Cranberry Simple Syrup:
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Reduce the heat and let the cranberries steep for about 10 minutes.
  3. Pour the mixture through a strainer, discarding the cranberries.
  4. Chill the cranberry simple syrup in the fridge until cold. It can be made in advance.
  5. Add 3 tablespoons of orange juice to the bottom of a champagne flute.
  6. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of cranberry simple syrup into the flute, depending on desired sweetness.
  7. Top the flute off with champagne or prosecco.
  8. Garnish with an orange slice and a couple of cranberries.
