Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice or apple cider
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 slice fresh gingerroot
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon clear honey
  • 1/4 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cinnamon stick, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the apple juice, lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon, gingerroot, orange zest, honey, and butter.
  2. Heat the mixture slowly, but do not let it boil.
  3. Once hot, ladle the toddy into a heatproof glass.
  4. Garnish with a cinnamon stick for stirring.
