Ingredients
- 1.50 oz dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon hot chocolate mix
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for garnish
- a pinch of cayenne pepper, plus more for garnish
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 to 1.50 cups ice
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, cold
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Finely chop dark chocolate into small, uniform pieces.
- Melt the chocolate in a medium mixing bowl in the microwave or using a double boiler on the stovetop, stirring frequently.
- Stir in sugar, hot chocolate mix, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper, then add 1/2 cup of milk and mix until fully incorporated.
- Transfer the chocolate mixture into a blender and add the remaining milk and ice. Blend until well combined. For a thicker consistency, add more ice and blend again.
- Pour the mixture into a glass and top with whipped cream.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and cayenne pepper for garnish.
