Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • A few sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (approximately 1/2 lime)
  • 4 ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice
  • 1 ounce rosemary simple syrup
  • 4 ounces tonic water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and rosemary. Simmer over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat as soon as the sugar dissolves.
  2. If time allows, let the syrup steep for an hour to enhance the rosemary flavor. If not, it can be used immediately; just allow it to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour in the gin, tonic water, lime juice, blood orange juice, and rosemary simple syrup. Stir gently.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and serve.
