Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • A few fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (about 1/2 lime)
  • 4 ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice
  • 1 ounce rosemary simple syrup
  • 4 ounces tonic water

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, simmer the sugar, water, and rosemary over medium-high heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Remove from heat as soon as the sugar dissolves. Let the syrup steep for an hour for an extra punch of rosemary, or if time is limited, it's ready right off the stove.
  3. After the syrup has cooled, fill a highball glass with ice and pour in the gin, tonic water, lime juice, blood orange juice, and rosemary simple syrup. Give it a stir.
  4. Optionally, garnish with a sprig of rosemary before serving.
