Ingredients
- 1.50 oz white/silver rum
- 1/4 oz lemon juice
- 1/2 oz pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup blackberries (75 grams)
- 1 oz water
- 1 tbsp sugar (12.5 grams)
- Crushed ice
- Fresh blackberries and mint for garnish
Instructions
- In a small pan, combine the blackberries, water, and sugar.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and continue boiling for about 10 minutes or until the blackberries are softened and can easily be mashed with the back of a spoon.
- Mash the blackberries and then remove the pan from the heat.
- Strain the liquid from the blackberry remnants and set it aside to cool.
- Fill a serving glass with crushed ice, about half full.
- Pour in the rum, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and blackberry syrup.
- Hold a swizzle stick or cocktail stirrer between your palms and rub your hands in opposite directions to "swizzle" the drink until the glass is frosted.
- Fill the serving glass to the top with more crushed ice.
- Garnish with fresh blackberries and mint before serving.
