Ingredients
- 1/3 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/6 cup water
- 1 2/3 oz silver tequila
- 1 1/3 oz Agavero Orange
- 1 1/3 oz lime juice
- 1/2 tbsp coarse sea salt
- 1 1/2 tsp sugar
- zest of 2 limes
- crushed ice for serving
- extra lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine blackberries and lime juice. Heat until the blackberries become soft and begin to burst.
- Transfer the mixture to a blender and puree until smooth.
- Return the pureed blackberries to the saucepan and add sugar and water. Bring to a simmer, then simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- In a large pitcher, mix the cooled blackberry syrup, tequila, Agavero Orange, and lime juice. Stir to combine.
- In a shallow bowl, combine salt, sugar, and lime zest.
- Rim each glass with a lime wedge and dip into the salt/sugar mixture.
- Fill the glasses with crushed ice and pour the drink over the ice.
- Serve with extra lime wedges.
