Autumn Harvest Sangria

Ingredients
- 1/2 pomegranate
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 pear
- 1/2 apple
- 5 oz red wine (I used Pinot Noir)
- 1/2 oz Triple Sec
- 1/2 oz pomegranate liquor
- 2 1/2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- De-seed the pomegranate.
- In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and 1/2 of the pomegranate seeds.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
- Strain and discard the pomegranate seeds.
- Cut the pear and apple into thin slices.
- Place the fruit slices and remaining pomegranate seeds in a large pitcher.
- Pour in the wine, Triple Sec, pomegranate liquor, and the cooled pomegranate simple syrup.
- Chill in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- Serve over ice, if desired.
