Ingredients

  • 1/2 pomegranate
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 pear
  • 1/2 apple
  • 5 oz red wine (I used Pinot Noir)
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz pomegranate liquor
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. De-seed the pomegranate.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, and 1/2 of the pomegranate seeds.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
  4. Strain and discard the pomegranate seeds.
  5. Cut the pear and apple into thin slices.
  6. Place the fruit slices and remaining pomegranate seeds in a large pitcher.
  7. Pour in the wine, Triple Sec, pomegranate liquor, and the cooled pomegranate simple syrup.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  9. Serve over ice, if desired.
