Ingredients
- 1/2 Honeycrisp apple
- 1 whole clove
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 6 oz red wine, such as Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, or Malbec
- 1 oz brandy (or rum for a gluten-free option)
- 1/8 cup 7Up or Sprite (or use all soda water for a less sweet version)
- 1/8 cup soda water
Instructions
- Slice the apple into thin slices, leaving the skin on, and place them in a glass pitcher.
- If using whole cloves, place them in a tea infuser or tie them in a piece of cheesecloth for easy removal later, then add to the pitcher with the apple slices.
- Pour the brandy and red wine into the pitcher and stir gently to combine. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Just before serving, add the soda and soda water to the pitcher, and gently stir to combine.
