Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 ounces bitter orange liquor, such as Aperol
  • 3 ounces prosecco

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, and salt. Warm over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the bitter orange liquor. Let the mixture cool completely.
  3. Pour the cooled mixture into an 8-inch baking dish and freeze for 4 hours or until completely frozen.
  4. Use a fork to scrape the surface of the frozen mixture to form large ice shards.
  5. Spoon about 1/2 cup of the mixture into a coupe glass and top with prosecco.
